ARTIST BIO

William de Yampert (b. 1969) is an American mixed media artist whose work radically blends various methods, materials and techniques, including printmaking, photography, painting, graphic design, silkscreening, intaglio and collage. De Yampert’s material eclecticism, creative energy and nontraditional practices result in pieces that are at once bold, mysterious, spirited and transcendent yet measured, intentional, and carefully considered. De Yampert's unique style is highly discernible due to the use of vibrant color which is dominant in his layered imagery, as well as the extraordinary force of personality each piece exudes — a personal expression of the artist's unconscious vision.

De Yampert’s subject matter is wide-ranging and without unitary meaning, exploring themes of the ancient world, the natural world, intuition, the unconscious, physical reality, illusion, energy fields and every day life. He has collected and created a catalog of images, photographs, designs, sculptures, paintings, papers, cloth and found objects that function as his noumenon awaiting their inspired transformation by de Yampert into tangible works of art, which have been exhibited in galleries and private collections alike.

Originally from Arkansas, William de Yampert lives and works in Miami Beach, Florida and Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is a graduate of Emory University where he majored in Anthropology, as well as Parsons School of Design where he studied Graphic Design.
